Cider CO₂ recovery
Portable CO₂ capture for craft and commercial cider producers. Cork & Capture installs on your fermentation tanks, captures the biogenic CO₂ you currently vent, and turns it into beverage-grade gas for carbonation, packaging and Verra-certified carbon credits.

The CO₂ problem
Cider fermentation produces large volumes of clean biogenic CO₂, concentrated into the autumn pressing window. At the same time, cider makers buy bulk CO₂ for force carbonation, keg and can packaging, and tank blanketing. Capture closes the loop and gives you a sustainability story that does not depend on the orchard alone.
Cider fermentation is concentrated into a few months — but those months produce serious CO₂ volume. A portable, seasonal deployment fits cider better than fixed plant ever will.
Cider makers pay for bulk CO₂ to force-carbonate, fill kegs and cans, and blanket tanks. On-site capture displaces that spend with gas you already produce.
Cider trades on heritage, orchards and place. Buyers — and increasingly customers — expect that story to extend to a credible carbon plan, not just an apple variety list.

The solution
A modular CO₂ capture system that arrives ahead of pressing, installs on your fermentation tanks, captures and stores the CO₂ on site, and is removed once the season closes. No capex, no permanent footprint on a busy cidery floor.
We connect to your existing fermenters — no new vessels, no civil works. The full kit fits on a Ford Transit and is installed without disrupting pressing or fermentation.
Captured CO₂ is purified and tested to ISBT beverage-grade standards. Suitable for force carbonation, keg purging, can counter-pressure filling, bottle conditioning and tank blanketing.
On-site CO₂ supply removes the bulk CO₂ contract during the busiest part of your year — the same months when bulk CO₂ supply is most likely to tighten.
Anything you do not use on site is collected by us. We resell locally through our facilitated network or permanently sequester it for Verra-certified biogenic carbon credits, with revenue shared back.
A flexible, seasonal subscription fee — no capital outlay, no fixed plant, no off-season cost. We handle install, service, certification and removal.
We work with traditional and modern cidermaking equally — heritage producers using open-top fermentation through to modern cideries running closed stainless tanks.
Sustainability
Sustainability managers at supermarkets and pub groups are asking the same questions of cider makers as they are of breweries and wineries. Capturing biogenic CO₂ is one of the most credible answers — visible, measurable and audit-ready.
Vented biogenic CO₂ becomes captured biogenic CO₂. Purchased fossil CO₂ falls off the procurement spend. Both moves show up cleanly in your Scope 1 / Scope 3 inventory.
Surplus CO₂ that we permanently sequester earns Verra-certified biogenic carbon credits. A real removal, on a real timeline, with paperwork that survives audit.
We provide capture volumes, purity certificates and credit registrations in formats that drop directly into supermarket sustainability questionnaires and on-trade buyer packs.

FAQ
Yes. Cider fermentation produces clean biogenic CO₂ that can be captured directly from your tanks, purified to beverage-grade and reused on site for force carbonation, keg and can packaging, and blanketing — or permanently sequestered for carbon credits.
Our system is portable. We deploy it to the cidery ahead of the pressing season, install it on your fermentation tanks, capture and store the CO₂ during fermentation, and remove the kit once the season ends. There is no off-season cost.
Yes. Captured CO₂ is purified and tested to beverage-grade standards on every batch — suitable for force carbonation of cider, keg purging, can counter-pressure filling and bottle conditioning.
Cork & Capture is offered on a seasonal subscription sized to your fermentation volume. There is no capital cost, no permanent plant, and no off-season fee. Full commercial terms are on our commercial terms page.
Yes — it is purified and tested to ISBT beverage-grade standards before it leaves the system. Quality control is built into the process, not bolted on.
Yes. The system is portable and modular, so we scale capacity to your output rather than forcing you into a fixed plant. Small craft cideries pay only for the seasonal capacity they actually use.
Yes. Surplus CO₂ that you cannot reuse on site is collected by us and either resold locally or permanently sequestered. Sequestered tonnes are registered as Verra-certified biogenic carbon credits with revenue shared back to you.
We work with cider makers across the UK on portable, on-site CO₂ recovery. Tell us about your fermentation profile and we’ll size a system that pays back from year one.
